A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam, but this problem can be fixed using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also vital to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

Setting up a catch-all mailbox will be astonishingly easy in case you have a Linux shared hosting with us. You can enable this feature through our advanced, albeit user-friendly Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage the shared web hosting account itself. You will find all the email addresses that you’ve set up shown alphabetically and next to each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately show you whether a specific mailbox gets all the email messages pertaining to a given domain or not. With one single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature at any time. If there is enabled email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a particular domain, you will get a warning from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom-built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to create a catch-all email mailbox effortlessly even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created using your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you do not need this feature anymore, you can disable it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
